Abstract

Abstract Adolescent girls reproductive health is often overlooked in Indonesia, especially regarding genital hygiene. This study aims to analyze the impact of education through demonstrations of vaginal hygiene kits on the genital hygiene behavior of adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 1 Mojoanyar. A pre-experimental design with a One Group Pre-Test Post Test approach was used, involving 30 seventh-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and the Wilcoxon test to assess knowledge, attitudes, and hygiene practices. Before the education, 50% of respondents had insufficient knowledge, 53.3% had negative attitudes, and 80% displayed poor hygiene practices. After the education, 80% of respondents had good knowledge, 90% showed positive attitudes, and 93.3% improved their hygiene practices. The results showed a p-value of 0.000 (< α = 0.05), indicating significant differences before and after the education. This suggests that education with demonstrations of vaginal hygiene kits positively affects genital hygiene behavior in adolescent girls at SMP Negeri 1 Mojoanyar. The demonstrations helped students understand hygiene practices, build positive attitudes, and encourage consistent behavior change.
