Abstract

Abstrak - Compliance with medication is considered as the main cause of hypertension. Lack of compliance with taking hypertension medication is the main reason for poor hypertension control. Family support will help increase knowledge about hypertension and provide motivation for hypertensive patients to be better. Patients with family support showed improved self-management and better medication compliance. Most of the Hypertension sufferers received less family support, which was 28 respondents (44.4%). Most of the Hypertension sufferers had less medication compliance, which was 24 respondents (38.1%). Most of the Hypertension sufferers had less self management, which was 29 respondents (46.1%). Most of the HT sufferers received less family support with low medication compliance, which was 17 respondents (26.9%). Most of the sufferers also received less family support with less self management, which was 20 respondents (31.7%). The Spearman-Rho test results obtained a p-value of 0.001, meaning that there is a relationship between family support and medication compliance and self-management in hypertensive patients.
