Abstract

Abstract - Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable diseases with a rising prevalence in Indonesia, including in Mojokerto Regency. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with the incidence of Diabetes Mellitus among participants of the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) at Puri Public Health Center, Mojokerto Regency. This study employs an analytical case-control design. The study population consisted of 5 all participants in the Prolanis program at UPTD Puri Public Health Center, totaling 129 individuals. A sample of 102 participants was selected, consisting of 51 cases and 51 controls. Data collection was performed using a questionnaire, and the data were subsequently analyzed using the Chi Square statistical test. This study reveals that the majority of respondents were unemployed. The analysis identified several risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus: occupation, family history of DM, physical activity, and diet. The bivariate analysis demonstrated that familu history of DM, physical activity, and dietary habits were significantly associated with the incidence of Diabetes Mellitus. The multivariate analysis using logistic regression demonstrated that dietary habits was the most dominant risk factor associated with the incidence of Diabetes Mellitus. The findings suggest that occupation, family history of diabetes, physical activity, and dietary habits are significant risk factors for Diabetes Mellitus. This knowledge can empower individuals at risk to adopt preventive strategies. Furthermore, these results can inform healthcare professionals in developing targeted interventions to improve Diabetes Mellitus prevention and management programs.
