Abstract

ABSTRACK Back pain is one of the most common complaints experienced by women in the third trimester of pregnancy. As the fetus grows and the uterus enlarges, the mother's center of gravity shifts forward, causing changes in posture and an increase in lordosis. This condition makes pregnant women more easily fatigued and often leads them to adopt improper body positions, such as bending forward, which can eventually worsen back pain. This study used a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of third trimester pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria in the working area of TPMB Nurul Hidayati, Kepulungan Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency. The study was conducted by measuring the level of back pain before and after the prenatal yoga intervention. The results showed a difference in the level of back pain among third trimester pregnant women before and after participating in prenatal yoga. Before the intervention, pregnant women tended to experience back pain with higher intensity. After participating in prenatal yoga, the intensity of back pain decreased, indicating an improvement in the respondents' condition. Bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of α = 0.05 obtained a p-value of 0.000 or p < 0.05. These results indicate that there was a significant effect on back pain conditions before and after the implementation of prenatal yoga. Prenatal yoga can be an effective non-pharmacological intervention to reduce back pain in third trimester pregnant women. Therefore, it can be concluded that prenatal yoga has a positive effect on reducing back pain among third trimester pregnant women in the working area of TPMB Nurul Hidayati, Kepulungan Village, Gempol District, Pasuruan Regency. Keywords: Third Trimester Pregnancy, Prenatal Yoga, Back Pain.
