Abstract

ABSTRACT Preoperative anxiety is a common psychological issue experienced by patients before undergoing a Caesarean Section (CS). This condition can affect hemodynamic stability, recovery, and patient satisfaction with healthcare services. Low levels of digital health literacy make patients more susceptible to invalid information, which can increase anxiety. The Operating Room Information and Education System (SIEKO) website was developed as a digital literacy medium that provides valid, easily accessible, and interactive information for patients. This study aimed to analyze the effect of digital health literacy through the SIEKO website on the anxiety levels of preoperative CS patients at RS Kartini Mojokerto. This research employed a true experimental design with a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 30 respondents (15 in the intervention group and 15 in the control group), selected using a consecutive sampling technique. The instrument used was the Surgical Anxiety Questionnaire (SAQ), and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a significant reduction in anxiety levels in the intervention group after receiving digital literacy education via SIEKO (Z = -5.947; p = 0.000), whereas the control group showed no significant change (p > 0.05). In conclusion, digital health literacy through the SIEKO website effectively reduces preoperative anxiety among CS patients. The implementation of SIEKO can serve as an innovative preoperative educational tool that supports improved quality and patient safety.
