Abstract

ABSTRACT The implementation of the SWITCH handover method so far has been carried out verbally so that the implementation of the handover is still not optimal, therefore it is necessary to implement a documentation-based SWITCH handover method so that the handover process becomes more optimal. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of the application of the documentation-based switch handover method on the job satisfaction of nurses in the handover process in the Operating Room of Sidoarjo Hospital. The research design used was the Pre-Experiment with the Pretest post test design approach. The variables of this research are the application of the documentation-based switch handover method as the independent variable and job satisfaction as the dependent variable. The research population is all nurses in the operating room of Sidoarjo Hospital as many as 41 nurses. Samples were taken with total sampling technique as many as 41 respondents. data was collected by means of a questionnaire and tested by paired t test. The results showed that after the documentation-based switch handover method was applied, satisfied respondents increased to 8 respondents, moderately satisfied respondents decreased to 33 respondents and no respondents felt unsatisfied. The results of the paired t test show the value of pretest mean = 65,98, Postest mean = 70,12 and the value of ρ = 0.005 with α = 0.05, this shows that the value of ρ = 0.005 <α = 0.05 then H0 is rejected so that there is an effect of applying the documentation-based switch handover method to the job satisfaction of nurses in the operating room Sidoarjo Hospital Nurses should be able to improve their ability to provide services to patients, especially in the handover process by attending seminars or training related to handover so that nurses can carry out their duties better and can feel more satisfied and comfortable at work.
