Abstract

ABSTRACT Cultural behavior is an action which is done hereditarily based on the behavior believed such as cultural behavior to check pregnancy. Antenatal care or pregnancy check is checking the pregnant women physically and mentally and saving the mother and baby in the pregnancy, childbirth and childbirth period. This research design uses a correlation design with a cross sectional approach. The appropriate population was 48 pregnant women with a total sampling of 32 respondents from second trimester and third trimester pregnant women. The sampling technique uses accidental sampling, while the data collection technique uses a nominal scale and questionnaires. In this research, data processing uses editing, coding, scoring and tabulating. Based on the result of the research, it is found that pregnant women with a positive culture who visit Antenatal Care K1 are 8 (25%) pregnant women, pregnant women with a positive culture who did not visit Antenatal Care K1 are 3 (9.38%) pregnant women, pregnant women with a negative culture who did Antenatal Care K1 visits 2 (6.25%) pregnant women, and pregnant women with negative cultures who did not Antenatal Care K1 visit are 21 (59.37%) pregnant women. The results of the Chi Square statistical test obtained a value of 0.017 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between culture and antenatal care K1 visits for pregnant women in Oro-oro Puleh Village Kejayan District, Pasuruan Regency in 2023. Midwives are suggested to always give motivation and counseling treatment by sharing information about the importance of checking the pregnancy in an early pregnany (fisrt trimester) to know the pregnancy and fetus health.
