Abstract
Abstract Lack of public awareness of getting regular medication and having their blood pressure checked at the Community Health Center. The success of treating hypertension in patients who have been declared hypertensive depends on the patient's awareness of regular treatment and also support from the family. The aim of the research is to determine the effectiveness of health education via WhatsApp on the compliance of hypertension sufferers in following treatment at the Ngoro Community Health Center, 1 Mojokerto Regency. This research design is Quasy Experimental with a Posttest Only Control group design approach. The research independent variable is health education via WhatsApp media. the dependent variable is compliance with hypertension treatment. The research population was all hypertensive patients who had not had routine control in the last 4 months at the of the Ngoro Health Center, Mojokerto Regency with an average number of visits per month of 72 patients. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique of 68 respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire instrument and tested using an mann whitney test. The results showed that the majority of respondents in the experimental group adhered to the routine treatment schedule, 25 respondents (73.5%) and in the control group, the majority did not comply with the routine treatment schedule, 20 respondents (58.8%). The results of the Mann Whitney test show a value of ρ = 0.007 <α = 0.05 so that H0 is rejected, so there is a difference in compliance of hypertension sufferers in following treatment at the Ngoro Community Health Center between those who were given education via WhatsApp and those who were not given it. The use of WhatsApp as an intervention in increasing compliance with hypertension treatment has proven to be effective so it can be used as an alternative form of action that can be taken to patients Keywords : Health education, Compliance, Hypertention
