Abstract
Abstract : Diabetic foot exercises for sensory sensitivity in diabetes patients are carried out to improve blood circulation and overcome limitations in joint movement. The sensitivity of contracting muscle cells to insulin will increase so that high levels of blood glucose in the blood vessels can be used by muscle cells as energy. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of diabetes mellitus foot exercises on foot sensitivity in diabetes mellitus sufferers at RSU Al Islam H.M Mawardi Krian. The research design used was an experiment with a One group pretest and post test design approach. The population was 43 respondents, a sample of 30 respondents was taken using simple random sampling technique. Data collection by measuring the sensory sensitivity of Diabetes Mellitus patients before and after being given intervention, the results are processed through editing, coding, scoring, tabulating stages, tested using the paired T-test statistical test if the data is normally distributed. If the data is not normally distributed, use the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of research on the effect of diabetic foot exercises on sensory sensitivity in diabetes mellitus patients at RSU Al Islam H.M Mawardi Krian, show that: Most of the sensory sensitivity (pre test) was in the negative category. Most of the sensory sensitivity (post test) is in the positive category. The result of statistic P=0,0003< α = 0.05 there is an effect of diabetic foot exercises on sensory sensitivity in diabetes mellitus patients at RSU Al Islam H.M Mawardi Krian. Providing diabetic foot exercises has been proven to increase sensory sensitivity in diabetes mellitus patients. This is because diabetic foot exercises are carried out regularly because diabetic foot exercises are highly recommended for Diabetes Mellitus patients in order to help improve blood circulation in the feet, strengthen the leg muscles, prevent foot deformities, diabetic foot exercises can be applied alone at home. Due to the influence of diabetic foot exercises on sensory sensitivity in diabetes mellitus patients, it is hoped that the results of this research will be used as a guide to prevent early complications of neuropathy (gangrene wounds).
