Abstract

Abstract – This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Water Tepid Sponge Compresses on the Body Temperature of Children with Fever at Bhayangkara Pusdik Brimob Watukosek Hospital. The results showed that the child's body temperature before being given Water Tepid Sponge Compress all had a body temperature with a moderate fever criterion (39.10C-400C). Meanwhile, after being given Water Tepid Sponge Compress almost all had a body temperature with a mild fever criterion (38.10C 390C). The child's body temperature without being given a water tepid 4 sponge compress in the control group at Bhayangkara Pusdik Brimob Watukosek Hospital (after 2 days) mostly had body temperature with moderate fever criteria (39.10C 400C). The results of the wilcoxon analysis test obtained a result of ρ value 0.000, which means that there is an Effectiveness of Water Tepid Sponge Compress on the Body Temperature of Children with Fever at Bhayangkara Pusdik Brimob Watukosek Hospital. It is necessary to disseminate information to parents about handling fever children using compresses both in the hospital and in the community. Explanation of water tepid sponge compresses to be given to children in accordance with the child's condition, to the way they are given.
