Abstract

Abstract –Until now, the problem faced by health workers in treating TB patients is the level of compliance with taking medication. Many TB patients are not compliant with taking medication, so it is very difficult for many TB sufferers to achieve recovery in the therapy process given by health workers in carrying out TB treatment. The research design used was a pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest design to compare research variables before and after treatment was given by measuring compliance before health education was given and after it was given. The sample in this study was all TB patients who visited the TB polyclinic, totaling 38 respondents. Using a simple random sampling technique and the Slovin calculation formula to determine the number of samples using the MMAS questionnaire measuring instrument. This research has 2 specific objectives, including identifying compliance with taking medication before providing health education to TB patients in the P2 TBC Service Room of the Gondang Health Center UPTD. Identifying compliance with taking medication after providing health education to TB patients in the P2 TB Service Room of the UPTD Gondang Community Health Center. This research uses data analysis using the SPSS Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. to compare 2 related or paired data samples taken from the same population. The results of this research were that respondents had an average score of 8, which shows that respondents had high compliance with a total of 20 people. This has increased after being given health education. Based on the results of this study, data was obtained that there was an increase in compliance scores between before the intervention was given and after the intervention was given. This is influenced by the lack of knowledge of TB patients. Keywords: Compliance with taking OBAT, health education, TB patients
