Abstract

Abstract - Nurses are known as a profession that has high work stress with complex work demands and needs and also has major stressors including high expectations, great responsibility and minimal authority so that high resilience is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurses' self-resilience and the level of work stress of nurses at Anwar Medika Hospital, Sidoarjo. The design of this study was correlation analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population was all nurses at Anwar Medika Hospital, Sidoarjo in June 2024, totaling 108 people. Sampling using proportionate stratified random sampling technique so that a sample of 85 people was obtained. The research instrument was a 10-item questionnaire-Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and Nurse Occupational Stress Scale. Data analysis using the Spearman Rho test. The results showed that most nurses had moderate resilience, namely 62 people (72.9%), most respondents experienced moderate work stress, namely 58 people (68.2%). Of the 82.6% of respondents who had high self-resilience, 19 out of 23 respondents experienced mild stress, and 90.3% of respondents who had moderate self-resilience experienced moderate stress, namely 56 out of 62 respondents. The results of the data analysis showed pvalue = 0.000 or less than α (0.05) so that H1 was accepted, meaning that there is a relationship between self-resilience and the level of work stress of nurses at RSU Anwar Medika Sidoarjo. The higher the nurse's resilience, the lighter the work stress felt. Nurses are expected to improve their performance in order to survive and adapt to the conditions of the work environment at RSU Anwar Medika Sidoarjo by building social connections, maintaining health, finding a vision, developing positive thoughts, and seeking help if needed.
