Abstract

Abstrack : The cause of the high incidence of strokes in Indonesia is people's unhealthy lifestyles and eating patterns, such as being lazy to move, fatty foods and sweet drinks, so many of them suffer from strokes. Currently, strokes are often triggered by diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity and other degenerative diseases. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and dietary compliance in stroke patients complicated by diabetes mellitus at RSU Al-Islam H.M Mawardi. This research used a correlational method with a cross sectional approach. The sample was selected using random sampling, namely 80 respondents in February 2024. The data analysis technique used the Spearman Rank test.The research results showed that the majority of respondents had high self-efficacy (56,2%) and adhered to the diet (43,8%). Based on the Spearman rho statistical test calculation, there is a relationship between self-efficacy and diet compliance at RSU Al-Islam H.M Mawardi with p value = 0.00 (α 0.05), with a correlation coefficient strength of 0.741 or a strong category relationship. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and dietary compliance in stroke sufferers complicated by diabetes mellitus.
