Abstract

ABSTRACT - Optimal healthcare services at primary healthcare facilities, such as community health centers (puskesmas), are significantly influenced by nurses' motivation in providing patient care. Nurses' motivation in performing their duties is affected by various factors, including workload and rewards received. This study aimed to determine the relationship between workload and rewards with nurses' motivation in delivering patient care at health centers in the Jetis District. High workload and rewards for nurses are expected to influence their motivation to provide quality service. This research used a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach, involving 32 nurse respondents from two health centers in the Jetis District. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using statistical tests, with the p-value as an indicator of relationships between variables. The study results indicate no significant relationship between workload and rewards with nurses' motivation in patient care, with p-values above 0.005 for both variables. These findings suggest that neither workload nor rewards are primary factors influencing nurses' motivation at these health centers.Based on these results, it can be concluded that other factors beyond workload and rewards may play a more significant role in influencing nurses' motivation. Potential factors such as work environment, colleague support, and individual factors should be considered to improve nurse motivation. This research is expected to provide input for health center management in formulating policies to enhance the quality of nursing services. Keywords: Workload, rewards, motivation, nurses, Puskesmas.
