Abstract
Abstract - Companies often do not realize that noise on production machines can cause various health problems for workers. The WHO survey in 2000 estimated that 250 million (4.2%) of the world's population suffered from hearing loss and 75 to 140 million in Southeast Asia. Problems that must be addressed and one of them is deafness due to noise exposure. The aim of the research is to analyze the effect of noise on hearing loss in employees at PT PL Gresik Regency in 2024. This research uses a quantitative method with an observational research type because it does not provide treatment to the research object, analytical research because it aims to determine the effect of noise on workers' hearing loss and a cross sectional approach because it examines the independent and dependent variables at one time. The collected data was processed using statistical tests 4 to be analyzed using the chi square test with (α) 0.05. There were 90.6% of the 53 respondents whose hearing status was in the category of no decline and a small percentage of 9.4% had a decline. The results of the computerized Chi square statistical test using computer software with a significance level of α= 0.05 showed a p-value (0.000) < α (0.05) which means there is a relationship between noise and hearing loss in workers at PT. PL, with a closeness level of 0.670 in the strong closeness category. It is hoped that with this research, companies and workers will pay more attention to jobs that are exposed to noise and that have an impact on workers' hearing in the long term. Keywords: Noise, hearing loss, senso-neural deafness
