Abstract

Abstract - The World Health Organization (WHO) identifies anemia during pregnancy as a condition characterized by hemoglobin (Hb) levels below 11 grams. Anemia in pregnant women is referred to as a "potential danger to mother and child." The WHO states that 20% of the 515,000 deaths worldwide are caused by anemia. According to Riskesdas data from 2018, 48.9% of pregnant women experienced anemia. The general objective of this study is to assess the impact of health promotion media about anemia on the knowledge of pregnant women at UPT Puskesmas Dlanggu, Mojokerto Regency. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental model. The study is divided into two groups: a control group and a treatment group, using a post-test design with a total average population of 50 pregnant women visiting, and a sample size of 44 respondents. The results show that half of the control group had sufficient knowledge (50%), while nearly half of the treatment group had good knowledge (45.5%). Data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed with the Mann-Whitney test. The average knowledge score for the control group was 6.5 with an SD of 1.472, while the average score for the treatment group was 7.5 with an SD of 1.336. There was a significant effect on the increase in knowledge about anemia among pregnant women, with a significance value of 0.025. In conclusion, pregnant women are encouraged to continually seek information about anemia during pregnancy, including signs and symptoms, impacts, and factors affecting anemia, so they can apply and implement the information in their daily lives.
