Abstract
ABSTRACT Hypertension in the productive-age population have increased. This has an impact on reducing work productivity. This study aimed to analyze the factors that influence dietary compliance in hypertensive patients of productive age at the Krian Health Center Sidoarjo. The study used a crossectional design involving data on hypertensive patients of productive age from 2021- 2024, focusing on respondent characteristics, knowledge about hypertension, self-motivation, family and health worker support. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using logistic regression test. The results showed that the characteristics of respondents were mostly female (75.5%) with a dominant age range of 36-45 years. Knowledge about hypertension was mostly in the good category (48.9%), but this knowledge did not always correlate positively with dietary compliance, because respondents with moderate knowledge showed higher dietary compliance than good knowledge. Self-motivation was shown to be the most significant factor influencing dietary adherence, with a p value of 0.000 and an OR value of 20.56. Family support and health workers did not show a significant effect on dietary adherence, with p values (0.573 and 0.758), indicating that this support may not be effective enough if not accompanied by other more supportive factors. Knowledge, self motivation, family support and the role of health workers jointly influenced dietary adherence (pvalue =0.000) and R square (0.399). Self-motivation was the main predictor of dietary adherence, while good knowledge, family support, and health workers showed a less significant relationship. Therefore, more effective interventions through increased self motivation and more appropriate training and integrated support from various sources are needed. Keywords: Hypertension, adherence, diet, self-motivation, support
