Abstract

ABSTRACT Acupuncture is a type of complementary medicine that has the principle of maintaining the balance of the body's Yin and Yang energy. Patient compliance in following the therapist's recommendations regarding the therapy schedule is very important for the success of acupuncture therapy. This study aims to analyze the factors of knowledge, beliefs and attitudes of patients towards compliance with acupuncture treatment. This research uses an analytical observational research type with a cross sectional approach. The research was conducted at the Harmoni Indonesia Healthy Traditional Health Center in the city of Malang in June-July 2024. The independent variables studied consisted of knowledge, beliefs and attitudes. The dependent variable is compliance in carrying out acupuncture treatment. The population in this study was all 135 acupuncture patients who visited. The research sample was 102 patients who met the inclusion criteria selected by simple random sampling. Data analysis used univariate, bivariate analysis with the Chi Square Test, and multivariate analysis with Multiple Logistic Regression. The results of the study, there was an association between knowledge on compliance with acupuncture treatment (p value = 0.000), there was an association of belief on compliance with acupuncture treatment (p value = 0.000), and there was an association on attitude towards acupuncture treatment (p value = 0.001). There was a simultaneous association between the factors of knowledge, beliefs, and attitude towards patient compliance in undergoing acupuncture treatment at the Traditional Health Center of Sehat Harmoni, Malang City, where the knowledge factor was the main factor in compliance with acupuncture treatment. It was concluded that the factors related to patient compliance in undergoing acupuncture treatment at the Traditional Health Center of Sehat Harmoni Indonesia, Malang City in 2024 were patient knowledge, belief, and attitude towards acupuncture treatment.
