Abstract

Abstract – Anemia in pregnancy occurs due to iron deficiency. Pregnant women worldwide, particularly in developing countries, face the health problem of iron deficiency. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of psychosocial factors on the compliance of pregnant women with consuming Fe tablets at TPMB Amirul Cholifah, S.Tr.Keb Sumberwono Village, Bangsal Sub-District, Mojokerto Regency. The research design was correlation-analytic with a cross-sectional approach. We used a simple random sampling technique. The data collection instrument was carried out using a questionnaire. The results showed that almost half respondents of them had moderate compliance with consuming Fe tablets, namely 16 people (48.5%). There was an influence of educational factors (p value = 0.023), knowledge (p value = 0.002), and attitude (p value = 0.008) on the compliance of pregnant women in consuming Fe tablets, and there was no significant influence of employment factors (p value = 0.301), income (p value = 0.165), or family support (p value = 0.137) on pregnant women's compliance in consuming Fe TPMB tablets. The study was conducted in Amirul Cholifah, located in S.Tr.Keb Sumberwono Village, Bangsal Sub District, Mojokerto Regency. We expect pregnant women to set an alarm to remind them to take Fe tablets, and to consume Fe tablets with orange juice to enhance Fe absorption and prevent nausea. Health workers are expected to conduct follow-up in providing education to the community, especially pregnant women, to increase knowledge about consuming Fe tablets and future researchers,it is expected to conduct research development on otherfactors such as health facilities, infrastructure, health workers’ attitudes that affect the compliance of pregnant women in consuming fe tablets.
