Abstract

Abstract - Obesity is one of the world's biggest health problems that not only occurs in developed countries, but has also spread in remote areas of developing countries. Obesity is prevalent in women and workers are no exception. Obesity can have a negative impact on health and can lead to several complications that occur such as type 2 diabetes, stroke, 4 heart disease, and a number of cancers to cause death. One of the factors that cause obesity is diet and contraceptive use. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence the incidence of obesity of female workers at PT Intidragon Suryatama Mojokerto City. This study used a crossectional approach, with a sampling technique of propotionate stratified random sampling which sampled 120 respondents. The collected data were processed using statistical tests to be analyzed with the chi square test with α 0.05. The results showed that most respondents with an inappropriate diet were 71.7%, most respondents used hormonal contraception as much as 64.2%, most respondents were obese as much as 69.2%. The chi square test results show that there is a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of obesity (p value 0.000; PR = 5.798; 95%CI = 2.442 13.770), and there is a significant relationship between contraceptive use and the incidence of obesity (p value 0.000; PR = 5.175; 95%CI = 2.249-11.908). Diet and contraceptive use have a significant association with the incidence of obesity among female workers. Keywords: Diet, Contraceptive Use, Obesity
