Abstract
Abstract-Maintaining hygiene during menstruation is crucial for preventing reproductive tract infections. This study aimed to investigate the influence of sociodemographic and psychological factors on the use of healthy sanitary pads among adolescent girls. The research employed a cross-sectional method with Simple Random Sampling, involving 96 students from SMAN 1 Bangsal in Mojokerto Regency. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using binary logistic regression tests. The results indicated that 89.6% of the parents were employed, and the proportion of respondents with pocket money above and below Rp 500,000 was equal. All respondents were Muslim, and 52.1% exhibited negative cultural attitudes. Good knowledge was reported by 47.9% of the respondents, with both positive and negative attitudes and body image at 50%. The regression analysis revealed that sociodemographic factors significantly influenced the use of healthy sanitary pads, with parental employment (p=0.04; PR=18.681), pocket money (p=0.000; PR=54.689), and culture (p=0.023; PR=5.130) being significant contributors. Additionally, psychological factors also played a role, with knowledge (p=0.017; PR=2.892), attitudes (p=0.001; PR=7.821), and body image (p=0.002; PR=6.596) affecting the behavior of using sanitary pads. It is hoped that schools and healthcare providers can enhance education on the importance of using healthy sanitary pads to prevent reproductive tract infections among adolescent girls.
