Abstract

Abstract - Knowledge of balanced nutrition in primary school students is the main basis for forming healthy eating habits and preventing nutritional problems. Lack of understanding about balanced nutrition can have a negative impact on physical and cognitive growth. The study aimed to determine the effect of nutrition education on balanced nutrition knowledge of students of SDN Pulorejo 2, Dawarblandong District, Mojokerto Regency. The study used a Quasi Experiment design with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design approach. The study population was 93 students. The study sample was 48 students who were divided into 2 groups, namely the smart dice group and the right and wrong card group. The results showed that nutrition education significantly improved balanced nutrition knowledge in both groups. Data analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test test showed significant differences in balanced nutrition knowledge before and after the intervention in both groups. Data analysis using the Independent Sample T-Test test showed significant differences in balanced nutritional knowledge in both groups, indicating that nutrition education with smart dice games is more effective than right or wrong card games. The results of the study are expected to be a reference for nutrition education to achieve optimal nutritional intake.
