Abstract

Abstract - Pneumonia is an acute respiratory infection (ARI) which is a serious global health problem that causes major morbidity and mortality in children. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for pneumonia in toddlers in the Bangsal Community Health Center, Mojokerto Regency in 2024. This study uses an analytical method with a case control approach. The control population is all toddlers aged 1-5 years at the Bangsal Community Health Center in 2024 with 64 case samples and 64 control samples. Data were analyzed using the Chi Square statistical test. The results showed that most respondents were male (58.6%), incomplete immunization status (51.6%), exclusive breastfeeding (55.5%), and almost all respondents had a nutritional status in the non-risk category (83.6%), had no history of low birth weight (87.5%). The results of the chi-square test showed that gender (OR=2.048), nutritional status (OR=2.959), immunization status (OR=2.138), history of exclusive breastfeeding (OR=2.304), history of low birth weight (OR=2.462) are factors that influence the incidence of pneumonia. Gender, nutritional status, immunization status, history of exclusive breastfeeding and history of low birth weight are risk factors for pneumonia. Community health centers are expected to strengthen their pneumonia control and prevention programs. Keywords: Pneumonia, Factors, Risk, Toddlers
