Abstract

gets attention from all levels of society. One of the things that hypertension patients must have in managing their disease is self-management behavior. Self management can encourage individuals to use existing resources to manage their disease (Lestari, 2018). Diet management in hypertension patients depends on the perception, behavior and understanding of the hypertension patient. In this study, the researcher used an Analytical Correlational research design with a Cross Sectional design, to determine the relationship between self-management behavior and diet compliance in hypertension patients at the RA Basoeni Hospital, Mojokerto Regency. The results of the study at the RA Basoeni Regional Hospital, Mojokerto Regency, obtained data on self-management behavior of hypertensive patients, it can be seen that most have negative behavior as many as 59 respondents (52%). dietary compliance in hypertensive patients is half of the respondents or 57 respondents (50%).From the results of the Spearman's rho correlation test with a significance level of p value = 0.05, the p value is obtained = 0.000 so that 0.000 <0.05 and the correlation coefficient value p value <α which means there is a relationship between self-management behavior and dietary compliance in hypertensive patients, with a moderate level of closeness. the results obtained from 55 respondents (48%) who have positive behavior are mostly obedient to following a diet in hypertensive patients.Self-management is a behavioral action that is driven by oneself, based on factors that influence the occurrence of high blood pressure, including above normal body weight, smoking. Factors that influence the occurrence of high blood pressure include above normal body weight, smoking Keywords: behavior, self-management, compliance, diet, hypertension
