Abstract
ABSTRACT Low birth weight infants (LBWIs) often experience oxygen saturation instability due to immature respiratory function. Nesting, a non-pharmacological intervention that positions infants in a womb-like posture, may improve comfort and physiological stability. Objective This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nesting on oxygen saturation stability in LBWIs. Conclusion:These findings suggest Methods:A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design without a control group was conducted with 20 LBWIs selected through consecutive sampling. Oxygen saturation was measured using pulse oximetry before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: showed a significant improvement in oxygen saturation following the nesting intervention (p < 0.05). that nesting positively influences oxygen saturation stability in LBWIs and can be recommended as a simple non-pharmacological nursing intervention. Keywords: low birth weight infant, nesting method, oxygen saturation stability
