Abstract

Abstract Hypertension is a cause of cardiovascular disease, stroke, kidney failure and causes morbidity and mortality in both men and women. Increased prevalence occurs in developed countries, but also in a number of developing countries in the world. Prevalence increases with age, especially after women go through menopause. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between obesity, lifestyle and physical activity with hypertension in the Sadewa room of Rahman Rahim Hospital, Sidoarjo. Research design analytical survey cross sectional approach. Population 52 people simple taken with simple random sampling 46 people Research instruments observation sheets and questionnaires Processing through the process of Editing, coding, scoring, tabulating. Data analysis using spearman rank. Research Results Most respondents are obese as many as 31 respondents (67%) Most of the respondents have an unhealthy lifestyle as many as 29 respondents (63%) Most of the respondents have heavy physical activity as many as 32 respondents (70%) Most of the respondents are hypertensive as many as 34 respondents (74%) Based on the results of the Spearman Rank test There is a significant relationship between obesity and the incidence of hypertension, the results of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 There is a significant relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension, Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 There is a significant relationship between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension, Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 As one of the inputs in preventing hypertension, it can increase respondents' insight into the relationship between obesity, lifestyle and physical activity so that nurses can provide comprehensive care for hypertension patient Keywords: obesity, lifestyle, physical activity, hypertension
