Abstract
ABSTRACT:The implementation of electronic medical records (EMR) in healthcare facilities has become a global trend in recent decades. EMR offers various benefits, such as increased efficiency, reduced medical errors, and improved quality of healthcare services. However, EMR implementation also brings new challenges for the healthcare workforce, including changes in work practices, the need for better information technology skills, and potential impacts on nurse job satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the ability to implement electronic medical records and nurse job satisfaction at Al-Islam H.M. Mawardi General Hospital, Sidoarjo.This study used a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 81 nurses, with a simple random sampling technique used. The research instruments were an electronic medical record implementation capability questionnaire and an End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) instrument. Data were analyzed using Spearman's Rho analysis with a significance level of 0.05.The results of this study showed that nurses at Al-Islam H.M. Mawardi General Hospital in Sidoarjo had good performance in implementing electronic medical records (87.7%). Nurses at Al-Islam H.M. Mawardi General Hospital in Sidoarjo were satisfied with their work (86.4%).The relationship between electronic medical record implementation and nurse job satisfaction was significant (p=0.000).The implication of this study is that electronic medical record implementation can be a driving factor in nurse job satisfaction. Hospitals can intensively improve various conveniences by providing basic computer skills, particularly training in the use of electronic medical records in healthcare units..
