Abstract

Abstract - Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and death worldwide. Infarction stroke occurs due to blockage of cerebral blood vessels that disrupts blood and oxygen supply. This study aims to analyze the factors affecting the incidence of infarction stroke at Lavalette Hospital Malang. This research applied an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 216 respondents, selected using purposive sampling. Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed using the Chi-Square test and Logistic Regression. The results showed that most respondents were elderly (54.17%), female (55.10%), and non- obese (83.33%). The majority had high systolic blood pressure (56.01%) and diastolic blood pressure (54.16%). CT Scan results indicated that 75% of patients suffered from infarction stroke. Bivariate analysis showed that age (p=0.237) and obesity (p=0.092) were eligible for further analysis, but logistic regression revealed that no factors had a significant partial effect on infarction stroke incidence. The conclusion is that age, gender, obesity, and hypertension were not proven to significantly affect the incidence of infarction stroke at Lavalette Hospital Malang. However, stroke prevention efforts should still focus on controlling risk factors and adopting a healthy lifestyle. Keywords: Infarction stroke, age, obesity, hypertension, gender
