Abstract

Abstract- Hypertension is often called the silent killer because most sufferers do not experience any signs or symptoms, thus they do not realize that their body is affected by hypertension. In some cases, sufferers only find out after complications occur. Hypertension is the main trigger for heart disease, stroke and kidney disease. This research aims to The Effect of Soaking Your Feet in Warm Water Mixed with Salt on Mean Artery Pressure (MAP) in Elderly People with Hypertension in Lengkong Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency.This study used a pre-experiment one group pretest-posttest research design. The population in this study was 30 respondents. The sample in this study was 28 respondents in total, taken using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used was a questionnaire to measure medication adherence. Statistical test using Paired T- test.The results of the study showed that the mean of Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in elderly with hypertension before intervention in Lengkong village was 102.07 mmHG in the Upnormal category, while the Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in elderly with hypertension after intervention was 95.71 mmHG in the normal category., This shows a reduction difference of 6.36 mmHG.The statistical test results shows a significance value (p) of 0.000, which means that there is an effect of a foot soak in warm water mixed with salt on Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in elderly people with hypertension in Lengkong Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency.Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that the community especially in Lengkong village, can continue to soak their feet in warm water mixed with salt for the Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) in elderly people with hypertension in order to maintain stable blood pressure.
