Abstract
Kata kunci : Media, Pengetahuan, Remaja, Tuberculosis Abstract- Tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Tuberculosis usually affects the lungs. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of health promotion media on adolescents' knowledge about the prevention of tuberculosis transmission at SMP 1 Walisongo. This study used a pre-experimental method, with a population of 141 people, and a sample of 60 people obtained through simple random sampling. The instrument used was a questionaire, analyzed using the Wilcoxon Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that almost half of the 8th and 9th graders (40%) were male (61.6%), with the majority of their families having no history of tuberculosis (78.4%). The analysis results of this study indicate that health promotion media have an impact on knowledge (p-value 0.001, z score -3.442). The Mann-Whitney test results showed no significant difference between animated video and leaflet media (p-value 0.982), as both are visual and audiovisual educational media. Each medium provided can increase the knowledge of school children. The senses, particularly the eyes, which contribute to 75% to 87% of knowledge acquisition, while 13% to 25% of human knowledge is obtained and transmitted through other senses. Therefore, health promotion through animated video and leaflet media is associated with increased knowledge among adolescents about tuberculosis, enabling them to increase awareness and take preventive measures against the disease.
