Abstract

ABSTRACT The service standard for response time on true emergency actions is a maximum of 5 minutes. Delays in triage can result in delays in intervention in patients with critical conditions, potentially resulting in patient death. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between nurses' knowledge level and response time in determining triage in the emergency room of Sidoarjo General Hospital. The research method used was a correlation study and used a Cross Sectional research design. The population in this study were 63 people, and taken with probability sampling (simple random sampling) as many as 55 samples. Using the Pearson Correlation statistical test. The instruments used were nurse knowledge questionnaires and response time observation sheets. The results showed that the average knowledge level was 6.69 and the average response time was 247 seconds or 4.07 minutes. And there is a relationship between the Knowledge of Triage Nurses with Response Time in Determining Triage in the Emergency Room of Sidoarjo Hospital, As for the results of p value 0.000 with α = 0.05, and p value < α. there is a relationship between Knowledge of Triage Nurses with Response Time. Then Ho is rejected and this study shows the value of r = -0.809, meaning that the correlation is very strong and unidirectional or opposite. So it can be concluded that the higher the nurse's knowledge, the lower or faster the response time will be. Conversely, the lower the nurse's knowledge, the higher or slower the respone time will be in determining the triage of patients in the emergency room.
