Abstract

Abstract - Adolescent girls with anemia are at risk of pregnancy complications, childbirth, prematurity, LBW, and maternal mortality. Riskesdas data in 2018 the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia was 32%. This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for anemia in adolescent girls in the SMP of Puskesmas Gedongan Working Area. It was quantitative research with case control approach. The population was 502 female students in the junior high school of the Gedongan Health Center Working Area of Mojokerto City. The sample of this study was 104 female students selected through simple random sampling technique. This study used univariate analysis, bivariate with chi square test. Univariate test results showed that most respondents were not adherence with taking Fe tablets (62.5%), abnormal menstrual patterns (58.7%), sleep quality (54.8%) and high parental income (65.4%). Bivariate test showed that there was an influence between adherence to taking Fe tablets, menstrual patterns, sleep quality, family income on anemia of adolescent girls in junior high school of Gedongan Health Center Working Area of Mojokerto City The role of families, schools, and health workers is needed in providing education and support so that adolescent girls are more aware and regular in maintaining their health, especially in taking Fe tablets as recommended by government programs, how to maintain menstrual patterns, and how to maintain sleep quality.
