Abstract

Abstract - Hypertension is a silent killer because it often shows no symptoms and can kill sufferers silently, making it crucial to pay attention to one's health. Self care management is recommended for people with hypertension as an effective way to control blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to The influence of education with caring-based booklet media on self-care management of hypertension patients in the Prolanis Group in the Krembung Community Health Center Work Area, Sidoarjo Regency. A quasi-experimental method was used to identify the effect of education using a Caring-based booklet on self-care management in hypertension patients. A purposive sampling method was used to select 44 respondents. The Wilcoxon test was used for analysis. The results of this study indicate that the majority (72.7%) of respondents had a sufficient level of self-care management before education (32 people), and more than half (59.1%) of respondents had a good level of self-care management after education (26 people). The results of the statistical test obtained a p-value = 0.000 is less than alpha 0.05 (p < α). This means that there is an effect of education using caring-based booklets on self-care management in hypertension patients. Providing self-care management education based on booklets will be easily accepted and understood by patients. Researchers assume that patients with higher education and adults generally have the ability to respond quickly to environmental stimuli in an effort to form positive perceptions.
