Abstract

ABSTRACT The nutritional status of toddlers is an important indicator in assessing public health, particularly in vulnerable age groups. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family socioeconomic status, family size, and history of infectious diseases with the nutritional status of toddlers at the Pandanrejo Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in Rejoso District, Pasuruan Regency. This study used an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was all toddlers at the Pandanrejo Integrated Health Post (Posyandu), with a sample size of 77 toddlers selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through interviews and observations, then analyzed bivariately using the Chi-Square test at a 10% significance level (α = 0.1). The results showed a significant relationship between a history of infectious diseases and toddler nutritional status (p = 0.039), between family size and toddler nutritional status (p = 0.018), and between family socioeconomic status and toddler nutritional status (p = 0.013). The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between family socioeconomic status, family size, and history of infectious diseases with toddler nutritional status. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve nutritional education, improve socioeconomic conditions, and prevent and treat infectious diseases to improve the nutritional status of toddlers.
