Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of methods and media is one of the important things in health promotion. This is related to health promotion goals and materials. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Audiovisual Education Based on Health Promotion Model on Drug Medication Adherence in Tuberculosis Patients in Outpatient Hospital Universitas Airlangga This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-posttest control group design with a total of 40 respondents. The data analysis used in this study is the Mann Whitney test. The average percentage of knowledge about pulmonary TB of respondents before education was 75.35% with a standard deviation of 6.94%. After being educated using poster media, the average percentage of knowledge about pulmonary TB of respondents was 83.68% with a standard deviation of 6.48%. It can be seen that the mean value of the difference between before and after education using poster media is 8.33 with a standard deviation of 7.11. The results of the statistical test obtained a value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after education using poster media. After education using audio visual media, the average percentage of knowledge about pulmonary TB of respondents was 89.58% with a standard deviation of 9.34%. It can be seen that the mean value of the difference between before and after education using audio-visual media is 18.75 with a standard deviation of 14.38. The results of the statistical test obtained a value of 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between before and after education using audiovisual media based on the Health Promotion Model.
