Abstract

ABSTRACT Teenagers often experience problems during menstruation, namely dysmenorrhea or abdominal pain. Dysmenorrhea is caused by the food consumed, for example fast food which has low fiber and vitamin content but is high in fat so that it interferes with the metabolic process of the progesterone hormone and can cause pain, the nutritional status of fast food is fat so it results in more nutritional status and has an impact on dysmenorrhea. This research was carried out to determine the relationship between consuming fast food and nutritional status on the incidence of adolescent dysmenorrhea at Yadika Bangil Vocational School. The research was carried out with a correlation research design using analytical type and a cross sectional approach. Researchers used 109 samples with simple random sampling. Analysis was carried out using a questionnaire instrument and statistical tests using the Spearmen Rho test. The findings of this research are the analysis of fast food on the incidence of dysmenorrhea with a Sig value (2 tailed) of 0.001 < 0.05 and nutritional status on the incidence of dysmenorrhea of 0.026 < 0.05 so that H0 is rejected while H1 is accepted, meaning that there is a significant impact of consuming fast food and the status of nutrition in dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls. The conclusion of this research is that there is a relationship between consuming fast food and nutritional status on the incidence of dysmenorrhea in teenagers. Balanced nutrition in teenagers can be achieved by efforts to reduce fast food because fat can disrupt circulation, causing stomach pain or dysmenorrhea.
