Abstract

ABSTRACT Anxiety during pregnancy can lead to increased pregnancy risks such as uterine inertia, prolonged labor, and postpartum hemorrhage. The incidence of anxiety in pregnant women in Indonesia reaches 373,000,000. As many as 107,000,000 or 28.7% of them anxiety occurs in pregnant women before labor. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between parity and the level of anxiety of third trimester pregnant women in facing labor at the Jatirejo Mojokerto Health Center. The study used a cross-sectional design. The population in the study was 60 respondents with a sample of 30 respondents. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. Data were collected using the HARS scale questionnaire and secondary data. Data analysis with Spearman Rho test. The results showed almost half of the respondents in the multiparous category as much as (43.3%), almost half of the respondents with mild anxiety levels as much as (43.3%). The results of the Spearman Rho test showed that there was a relationship between parity and the anxiety level of third trimester pregnant women at the Jatirejo Mojokerto Health Center (Spearman Rho = 0.518 with a p value = 0.003 which is smaller than a = 0.05). Psychological burden in pregnant women is at high risk of affecting the baby's condition and the mother's condition. Anxiety can be influenced by one of them is parity. Midwives can conduct initial screening and provide IEC to pregnant women about anxiety and fear experienced during pregnancy. Keywords: Parity, Anxiety, Third trimester pregnant women
