Abstract

Abstract The interest of family planning acceptors in choosing postpartum family planning is still low, one of which is due to the husband's lack of support in taking his wife to counseling and examinations for postpartum family planning use. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between husband's support and third trimester pregnant women's interest in using postpartum contraception. This research design is correlational analytic. The population of this study was all pregnant women in the third trimester who visited Kemlagi Community Health Center, Mojokerto Regency with an average monthly number of 41 mothers. The sample was taken using purposive sampling technique as many as 36 respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire instrument on husband's support and mother's interest, then analyzed using the Spearman rho test. The results of the study showed that of the 24 respondents who received husband's support, almost all of them had a good interest in using postpartum contraception, as many as 20 respondents (83.3%) and of the 12 respondents who did not receive husband's support, most had a bad interest, as many as 7 respondents (58.3%). The results of the chi square test obtained a value of ρ = 0.011, α = 0.05. This shows that the p value <α so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so there is a Relationship between Husband's Support and Mother's Interest in Using Postpartum Contraception at the Kemlagi Community Health Center, Mojokerto.
