Abstract

Abstract - This study was to determine the effect of education on adherence to therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients at Al Islam H.M. Mawardi Krian General Hospital. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test. The population in this study was 45 type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, with a total sample size of 40. This study was analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Based on the "Test Statistics" output, the Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.003. Because the value of 0.003 is smaller than <0.05, it is concluded that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted because there is an influence before and after being given education on the compliance of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients with therapy. This shows that there is an influence of education on the compliance of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients with therapy. Nurses play a role as educators and help provide treatment for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients in increasing the level of compliance with therapy.
