Abstract
Abstrack - The risk of falls in hospitalized patients is a safety issue that can potentially lead to serious injuries and health complications. Therefore, it is crucial for healthcare workers to find ways to provide mobilization support to patients. This study aims to analyze the effect of mobilization support by nurses on reducing the risk of falls in in hospitalized patients at West Sidoarjo Regional Hospital. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test approach. The study population was inpatients at West Sidoarjo Regional Hospital, with an accidental sampling technique of 90 respondents. The independent variable was the nurse's mobilization support intervention, and the dependent variable was the patient's fall risk during hospitalization. The patient's fall risk was assessed using the Morse Fall Scale. The data were tested using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents experienced a moderate risk of falling before being given the mobilization support intervention, amounting to 68 respondents (75.6%). Meanwhile, after being given the mobilization support intervention, the majority of respondents experienced a low risk of falling, amounting to 54 respondents (60%). Statistical test analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value of 0.000 <α = 0.05 so it can be concluded that nurse mobilization support is effective in reducing the risk of falls in patients hospitalized at West Sidoarjo Regional Hospital. It is hoped that hospitals can further examine and develop and compile operational standards for implementing mobilization support measures in an effort to reduce the risk of patient falls to improve patient safety.
