Abstract

ABSTRACT Nurse performance is one of the key factors in improving the quality of hospital services. This study aimed to determine the relationship between motivation, workload, and job satisfaction with the performance of nurses in the Inpatient Unit of Sidoarjo Barat Regional Public Hospital. The study design used a correlational approach with a cross-sectional method. A total of 37 nurses were selected using proportionated random sampling. Independent variables included motivation, workload, and job satisfaction, while the dependent variable was nurse performance. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman correlation test. The results showed that most nurses had low performance (62.2%), low job satisfaction (59.5%), and high workload (59.5%). Statistical tests revealed significant relationships between motivation and performance (p=0.000; r=0.718), workload and performance (p=0.002; r=-0.491), and job satisfaction and performance (p=0.001; r=0.524). The study concludes that motivation, workload, and job satisfaction are significantly associated with nurse performance. Hospitals are recommended to implement strategies to enhance motivation, manage workload, and improve job satisfaction to optimize nurse performance.
