Abstract

Abstract School-age children are in a critical stage of physical and mental development. Obesity at this age is a serious concern, as it often persists into adulthood and increases the risk of metabolic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disorders. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing obesity among school aged children at SDN Tambakagung, Mojokerto Regency, focusing on physical activity, dietary patterns, and genetic factors. A cross-sectional study design was used with a sample of 73 students selected through proportionate random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Spearman Rank test. The results showed a significant relationship between physical activity, dietary patterns, and genetic factors with obesity (p < 0.005). Physical activity and dietary habits were identified as the primary contributing factors, while genetic influence was weaker but still relevant. These findings highlight the importance of early preventive and promotive interventions that emphasize healthy lifestyle behaviors to prevent obesity and its long-term health consequences.
