Abstract

Abstract Cesarean section (CS) is a frequently performed surgical procedure on women in labor. Postoperative recovery is significantly influenced by early mobilization and pain levels. Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Section (ERACS) is a method developed to accelerate recovery by reducing pain and increasing mobilization. This study aims to analyze the differences in early mobilization and pain levels in patients after cesarean sections using the ERACS and conventional methods. This study used a comparative design with a cross sectional approach. Forty respondents were divided into two groups: 20 patients with ERACS CS and 20 patients with conventional CS. The instruments used included an early mobilization observation sheet and a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) for pain. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that all patients with ERACS CS were able to mobilize early well (100%), while almost all patients with conventional CS experienced poor mobilization (95%). The pain levels in the ERACS group were mostly mild (70%), while in the conventional group, the majority were moderate (55%), and almost half were severe (45%). The statistical test showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference. These findings indicate that the ERACS method is more effective than conventional CS in accelerating recovery through early mobilization and reducing pain levels. These results align with the literature indicating that the ERACS approach can reduce analgesic use, improve patient comfort, and accelerate the rehabilitation process. Therefore, the implementation of ERACS can be recommended as standard practice to support optimal recovery in post-CS patients.
