Abstract
ABSTRACT- Preschoolers were required to learn about how to adapt to other people in order to achieve social maturity. The development of socialization and independence needs to be instilled in children from an early age because the development of socialization and independence has a very large role in life so it needs to be stimulated. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the mother's ability to stimulate development and the socialization and independence of children aged 4-6 years. The design of this research was correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all mothers and children aged 4-6 years in Gayaman Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency. Using a proportionate random sampling technique, a sample of 129 people was obtained. The instrument uses a development stimulation questionnaire from SDIDTK, and PKBS observation sheets. The results showed that the majority of mothers had a poor ability to stimulate development, namely as many as 68 people (69.4%), and almost all children had an average development of socialization and independence, namely as many as 88 children (89.6%). The results of the Spearman Rho test showed a pvalue = 0.027 and a correlation coefficient of 0.224 so that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected, which means that there was a relationship between the mother's ability to stimulate development and the development of socialization and independence of children aged 4-6 years in Gayaman Village, Mojoanyar District, Mojokerto Regency. Mothers with the ability to stimulate the development of socialization and independence were not good enough to cause children to have average socialization and independence development. Health workers were advised to provide health education to the community through counseling and simulation activities about stimulating child development.
