Abstract

Abstract Surgical procedures are related to anesthesia procedures. One of them is spinal anesthesia or Spinal-Epidural Anesthesia (CSE). Postoperative patients who received SAB anesthesia were observed using Bromage Score while in the recovery room. One of the early ambulation techniques that can be done to accelerate the process of achieving Bromage Score 2 in postoperative patients with spinal anesthesia is by head up intervention. This study aims to determine the effect of giving head up on patient recovery time by using a quasy experiment research design with a posttest only control group design approach. The sample in this study is 30 respondents. The instrument used was an observation sheet while in the recovery room for the intervention group and the control group. The independent variable of this study is the provision of a head up position. The dependent variable of this study was the recovery time of patients after surgery with CSE anesthesia. The results showed that the average recovery time required for postoperative patients with CSE anesthesia in the intervention group was 161 minutes, while for postoperative patients with CSE anesthesia in the control group was 200 minutes. The results of the statistical test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 which showed that there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group. In conclusion, there is an effect of the administration of head up intervention on the speed of recovery time in postoperative patients with CSE anesthesia.
