Abstract

Abstract – Suicide is an increasing mental health problem and remains a major concern among university students, who are vulnerable to academic, social, and psychological stressors. This study aimed to describe the tendency of suicide risk among students at STIKES Majapahit Mojokerto. A quantitative study with a descriptive approach was employed. The sample consisted of 73 students selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data were collected in August 2024 using a validated and reliable suicidal ideation questionnaire and analyzed using univariate analysis. The results showed that most respondents were categorized as having a moderate suicide risk tendency (66%), followed by high (25%) and low (10%) risk levels. These findings indicate that the majority of students experienced suicidal ideation without progressing to suicidal actions. In conclusion, the tendency of suicide risk among students remains a significant concern and requires serious attention. The study implies the need for early detection, strengthening campus mental health services, and implementing comprehensive suicide prevention programs to reduce the potential escalation of suicide risk among students..
